“This is wrong, Chestnut, and you know it.”
It’s been a while since we’ve had a lore drop, and I’m gearing up for the release of Decimation Protocol, book 2 of the Warmaster Series. Time for a deep dive of the nitty-gritty that won’t be into the book wholesale. The brimstones are calling for no mercy, just blood, and we’ve got to feed them.
We haven’t been to the moon since the 1970s, and Elon Musk wants to colonize Mars. It’s mind-boggling. I heard somewhere that if you drove a car at 70mph/ 112kph and never stopped, it’d take 6,000 years to reach Pluto. To put it another way, if you started when the pyramids were being built, you might be there by now.
Now, let’s think beyond the solar system. In fact, let’s take out our home base of Earth. You can never go back. You have a spacefaring civilization, and you’ve not only got to stay alive, but keep peace, order, and stability. How would you do that?
Military might.
But eventually, those living under tyranny rise up, so it can’t be absolute control for too long. So, how do you keep the masses happy? You’d give them something they recognize.
