People who espouse their beliefs and preach their convictions are rarely the first to follow their own wisdom.

After writing 3+ million words over twenty-three years, I’ve learned that writing evolves with time, and so does its business side. Contract’s been paid, and the blade’s unsheathed. All we need to do now is stay on target.

Nine published books, fifteen more in various stages of completion, five years of business, four separate series, and two worlds, I realized the person keeping my commas honest was about to crush my author budget.

Frugality often gets a bad rap, but when it comes to publishing indie books, you’ve got to be wise and mindful with your funds.

In this week’s post, we’re tackling editing as the currency in the indie world. It takes long-term planning and hard decisions, and while loyalty is often rewarded, sometimes it’s best to reevaluate business relationships.
