When advice is offered and a path shown, ask what the possessor of such knowledge holds back for himself.

Some authors endure as shorthands known for quality, trust, and worthy of time. Others are just pieces of shit. Contract’s been paid, and the blade’s unsheathed. Let’s stay on target.

I’m going to say something confrontational: “Yes, authors owe you their work.” Regardless of litany of excuses, unless they’ve passed away, authors owe you. Right now, I’m directing this at two in particular: Martin and Rothfuss. Let’s find out why in this opinion piece…
