This post is for all newcomers, those who have recently joined, and those yet to come. It’ll be pinned for ease of access. We’re discussing exactly what I write, and who I write for. It’s revealing the architecture beneath, the things that move me, and the themes that resonate.
Will it be a hit for everyone? No. My writing attracts a very specific kind of reader and mind: Those who want more than the paper-thin veneer we seem to be getting from the mainstream machine. Plot is great, but the motivations, inner conflict, and desires of a character are what we crave more. It’s not about the moment of choice that intrigues us, it’s everything that’s leading to that point, and the journey afterward.
Some of my stories take a while to unfold—a slow burn—but once the mayhem starts, there’s no slowing down. All will have deep, flawed characters, moral conflicts, and impossible choices. That’s where the story lives, not in the explosions, the car chases, or the million bullets hammering down range, but those quiet moments that change the world when no one’s watching.
By the way! Be on the lookout for the first audiobook chapter of Red Creek, coming out in three days: September 15th. It’s available for everyone, so be sure to share the post!
