I'm thinking the author's contribution was #8. It's been a while since I read Demon's Fate, but I think one of the MCs was named Mara.
I was expecting this to be challenging, but will take a stab. :) My guesses for AI: 2, 3, 4, and 5. Went back and forth on one of the others, so we'll see. And I know this isn't the challenge, but the author's contribution ... #1? *nervous laugh* Curious to see if I'm close! My reasoning is based on sentence construction primarily, with a little story-telling context thrown in <- though this 2nd bit was more nuanced/by feel.
Also, I enjoyed all of the entries. Right or wrong in my guesses, kudos to the authors.
This task was daunting. In my opinion it is extremely difficult to determine what is written by human versus AI.
Number one has a robotic flow to it so I am going to guess it is AI.
Number five would be my second guess for a prompt written by AI because it is too wordy.
Number seven also appears to be authored by AI due to poor sentence variation and it reads as choppy.
Number nine definitely stands out as AI written as it is very incoherent and does not stick to the given writing prompt. Death is not mentioned or alluded to in the slightest.
The prompt written by the author of this post is ten. Though it is not his exact style.
